Alfred University to use $1.25 million in grant funding, software for renewable engineering training program Alfred University has been awarded a $466,853 grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) which will support student internships and fund a program that provides short course training for renewable energy engineering students and workers in the electric utilities field. The University has also received a donation from GE Vernova of $786,000 in grid planning and operations software to support the NYSERDA-funded project.

SOAD Dean Lauren Lake named president of the National Council for Arts Administrators Lauren Lake, Michele and Marty Cohen Dean of Alfred University’s School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division, recently was named president of the National Council of Arts Administrators (NCAA). Her two-year term began on Jan. 1.

Leo Tecosky '03 to join sculptor Kim Thomas in February Black Glass Artist series Glass sculptor Leo Tecosky ’03 will return to Alfred University as part of the School of Art and Design’s 2024 Black Glass Artist Series.

Lauren Lake to Lead Workshop at the Burchfield Penny Art Center Lauren Lake, Dean of the School of Art and Design + Performing Arts Division at Alfred University, will lead a workshop at the Burchfield Penny Art Center in Buffalo, NY on Jan. 27 from 11 am-1:30 pm.
